About the Collection

These Hudson River smoothed stones are the origin of my work with collected stone. Their thin sliver style in breaking at layers being Sedimentary rock, they are flat and then eroded smooth and rounded on their rectilinear edges. Their palate of colors Blue grey, black, brown, red, and green either solid or stripped with white lines of calcite drew me as one of my everyday attire. Earthy and practical, they strike me as the perfect use for daily wear jewelry. When made into many stone dangling chandelier earrings their subtle beauty becomes stunning. These stones are NY Shale and Greywacke.
